Isha Malviya, Parth Samthaan on the effects of reality shows

Isha on Bigg Boss

Talking about how reality shows have affected them both professionally and personally, Isha says, “Bigg Boss ke baad kafi changes aaye hai definitely. Kyuki Bigg Boss ek aisa platform hai jisko almost pura youngsters hai Inida ke a joh ek female audience bhi hai khana khate time, khana banate time, kuch bhi karte time – woh as a timepass usse consider karte hai aur dhekte hai. So recalling bahut milta hai aur sab pechan jaate hai ki haa yeh aayi thi Bigg Boss mein. Personal life bhi pata chata hai ki – abhi main aapko milke mujhe nahi pata kya chal raha hai, but inside Bigg Boss you’re 24×7 live, toh sab aapko dhekte hai, aapke baare mein aur unko jaane ko milta hai, so it was a nice experience. (After Bigg Boss a lot changed. BB is show that has been watched by millions, so they know who you are. They keep tabs about your personal life too. Currently not much is known about my personal life, but on Bigg Boss, the cameras are on round the clock so people get to know a lot about you.)”

Parth on Social Currency

Talking about how things changed for him after Social Currency, Parth says, “I would say it was an experience for me all together where I enjoyed. Mere liye humesha se tha ki mujhe nahi karna hai because I’m a very introverted guy and I like to keep my life as personal as I can. But mujhe bataya gaya ki that show is more about a game show, creating content… islie mujhe bahut interesting laga because it was more to do with creativity. Toh (show ke baad) social media ko leke meri bahut awareness hui hai. Kyuki main bahut hi technologically challenged hu. Mujhe zyada reel-wheel banana woh sab, edit karna nahi aata tha. Toh woh show pe maine sab shikha hai aur uske baad main videos edit karna sikha hu. Toh that was a learning lesson for me. (I’m generally an introvert so I never wanted to do reality shows. I was told it was a game show. I said yes to it as it was content-centric. After the show ended, I became more aware of social media and how to use it. I learned to make reels and edit content there.)”

Interrupting him, Isha added, “Actually, reels yeh nhai banate. Interested nahi hote hai woh reels mein itna zyada. (He really doesn’t like making reels)”

Isha, Parth Samthaan on lessons learnt from reality shows

Talking control of the conversation, Parth added, “But overall, I would say woh show aisa tha ki life won’t be simple. Hum humesha apne friends chunte hai aur unhi ke saath rehte hai kyuki woh like-minded hai, lekin Bigg Boss, Social Currency aise shows hai jaha aap tarah tarah ke log, alag kisam ke, prakar ke, antique log ko aap miloge, jinke saath gel karna hoga, bonding karni hogi – even when they are totally opposite to our personality. Toh thoda humko sacrifice karna padta hai efforts uthane padenge… toh that is a challenge in life also. Life won’t be as predictable as you want. (You generally choose friends as you share similarities. However, in reality shows, you are made to spend time/live with strangers. You have to bond with them even if you have clashing personalities. You have to make sacrifices, it’s a challenge you face in life.)”

Talking about the things reality shows teach, the two answered together, “Bahar it is very simple. Agar aapki aur meri nahi banti toh aap apne raste, main apne raste. Waha you have to face them, you have to sit with them, you have to talk to them, you have to survive with them. It was a very nice experience. (Outside reality shows, life is very simple. If you don’t agree with someone you can part ways, in a reality show, you have to talk to them and learn to live together.)”

Isha Malviya and Parth Samthaan on Khatron Ke Khiladi

Talking about participating in Khatron Ke Khiladi, Isha said, “Nahi. Abhi toh nahi to be honest. Khatron nahi, par many different things. (Not at the moment as I have other things on the plate.)” However, she revealed she’s in talks to star in web series.

During the fun Rapid Fire segment, when asked which reality show he would prefer doing between Bigg Boss, Jhalak Dhikl La Jaa and Khatron Ke Khiladi, Parth replied, “Khatron Ke Khiladi.” During the same segment, when asked what she would want from some of the Bigg Boss men for herself, Isha said, “Abhishek – nothing, Munnawar – shayaris, Arun – simplicity, Vicky – fun-loving personality, Neil – (awkward) nothing and Samarth – understanding.” When asked about her co-star sitting beside her, she said, “Parth – pura hi admire karne layak hai, he’s a great guy.”
